Loading... Please wait...A few seasons ago we were all marvelling at collar and cuff inserts lined with special fabric or trim, “ooh I like the trim on that shirt” said a client and that said the shirt was sold.
Until now I thought it was quite cool, but now I want something different from a shirt than a bit of trim to keep me happy.
It all now seems a bit standard issue and the trim just doesn’t do it for me like it did.
The trim has now become quite absurd and untamed; in fact some of these shirts would look more at home in a circus act.
Don’t get me wrong a little detail is classy but it seems somehow that it has all become rather crass.
As you can tell I’m a little hot under the shirt collar (no pun intended) about this blatant abuse of trim but looking around the bars and restaurants it really isn’t surprising to understand why.
Whilst recently out to a well renowned bar in the area I noticed two shirts with apples on, one with cars on, one with helicopters on and one with a trim that made your eyes go screwy.
Please a little trim goes a long way but please don’t overload it, otherwise you will look like a jester!
